Job Summary
Manages the daily operations for shipping product.
Essential Job Duties
o Manages the receipt and storage of finished products from manufacturing.
o Manages product staging for shipment; responds to shipping issues and meeting customer requests.
o Manages the distribution and storage of materials, and monitoring orders for accuracy, completeness, and defects; investigates and resolves issues.
o Manages department performance. Monitors inventory levels; manages cycle count accuracy and product rotation, Shortages, Fill Rate, etc. Participates in creation of department KPI's and budget.
o Monitors and analyzes performance measurement variances; prepares and distributes reports; investigates and resolves issues.
o Develops and/or revises operational and working practices and procedures; monitors for compliance.
o Manages and leads safety campaign.
o Participates and/or leads department meetings and core-functional performance improvement committees. Participates in Fund the Future team.
o Prepares reports for management; participates in projects as assigned.
o May perform other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility
Independent; working under only general instructions and expected to determine how to accomplish the work assignments.
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly supervises 4 associates, and indirectly supervises more that 50-60 associates. Directly supervises 3 Shipping Supervisor and a Logistics Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's. policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, synthesizing complex or diverse information. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints, varying writing style to meet needs and or speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Managing project team and communicating changes and progress.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Develops and coordinates projects, project plans, and completing projects on time and within budget.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Internet software.
Education and Experience
Associates degree; or 5 - 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
